Crescendo Health Taps David Strutton as Chief Scientific Officer

Crescendo Health, which specializes in modernization of clinical research data infrastructure, appointed David Strutton, PhD, Chief Scientific Officer.

Strutton will lead scientific strategy, overseeing scientific rigor and partnering with life sciences sponsors on evidence strategy and study design. Crescendo says he will help drive research that demonstrates the utility of health data infrastructure in therapeutic development acceleration.

Related, he is also tasked with leading evidence generation frameworks, plus customer solutions that advance patient-centric clinical research.

New Chief Scientific Officer’s Experience

Strutton counts senior roles at Merck and Pfizer among decades of experience in clinical research, real-world evidence, and health economics. At Merck (known as MSD outside the U.S. and Canada), he helped establish the Center for Observational and Real-World Evidence. With Pfizer, he led the company’s Vaccines Global Health and Value.

He is a senior fellow at the Center for Evaluation of Value and Risk in Health. This is part of the Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies at Tufts Medical Center.

Strutton earned his PhD at The Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. There, he also served as an adjunct faculty member for 20 years.
